Emily Hicks is a graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, where she received her bachelor's degree in Music Education. She also received a Master's degree from Lamar University in school administration. Her primary instrument is the clarinet. She is also originally from Indiana, but has called Texas home for the past eight years. Mrs. Hicks is excited to begin her 8th year teaching as a Bedichek Bobcat!
Mrs. Hicks is married to her husband, Andrew, who is also a band director! Together they have four rescue pets: three dogs whose names are Gale, Sansa, and Pepper, and one cat, Louise. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, and travelling.
Mrs. Hicks teaches the Wind Ensemble, and beginning flute, clarinet, oboe, bassoon, trumpet, and horn.

Jakov Barrientos is a Texas native, graduating from Rio Grande City High School in South Texas. He received a Bachelors of Music in Music Education from the University of Texas at Austin. While in college he was a part of Longhorn Band, Wind Ensemble, Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra, and the University of Texas Percussion Ensemble. He is a member of Texas Music Educators Association and Percussive Arts Society. He has taught with numerous schools in the central and south Texas areas. He completed his student teaching with AISD and is excited to begin his fourth year of teaching as a Band Director. Mr. Barrientos is thrilled to be a part of this band family and cannot wait to continue teaching the young minds in the Bedicheck band program.
Mr. Barrientos teaches the Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Steel Drums, and beginning percussion, saxophone, trombone, and euphonium.
